Luling Lavender Fields is a family-owned agritourism business that is open year-round to the public. Two thousand lavender plants were planted in March 2017 and the store and fields opened in July 2018. There are six varieties of lavender growing and they do not all bloom at the same time. Blooms begin to show in March and continue through the Fall. Visitors are welcome to walk in the fields or sit at picnic tables under the huge centuries-old oak tree that graces the property.
The Lavender Store offers a unique experience, such that visitors often use the word “magical” when they first walk in the door. Built partially of shipping containers joined by a large vaulted center area, having walls of whitewashed shiplap, huge windows with scenic country views, and ceilings strung with hundreds of lights, the wonderful aromas and colors blend to make it a pleasant and charming locale. Natural bath and beauty products, culinary goods, ornaments, baskets, garden decor, jewelry, artwork, delicious natural drinks, and all things lavender are ready for browsing. Local artwork and Texas handmade goods make superb gifts and souvenirs.

Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas’ oldest continually operating and most famous dance hall. By design, not much has physically changed since the Hall was first built. The 6,000 square foot dance hall with a high pitched tin roof still has the original  with side flaps for open air dancing, a bar in the front, a small lighted stage in the back and a huge outdoor garden. Advertisement signs from the 1930s and 40s still hang in the old hall and around the stage.
